Daniel Bianchini is a composer, songwriter and producer based in Oslo. He makes music for film and games, and has written and released his own songs as Aymara since 2015.

His background is in film. He studied film and art, has edited for years, and acts in film and commercials, most recently as the lead in the feature film Small Change. So he knows a scene from the inside: the actor's timing, the rhythm of a cut, and the moments where music should leave room.

His sound is often tactile and atmospheric, but he moves in other directions when a project calls for it. Sometimes the line between music and sound design disappears, and the score becomes more about how a room or a feeling sounds than about a melody.

He likes to come in early. Writing from the script, a mood board or the first footage, before the picture is locked, so the music can grow with the film and help shape it. The way Paul Thomas Anderson works with Jonny Greenwood, and Nicolas Winding Refn with Cliff Martinez, is a big inspiration.

Working with him means early sketches, open conversations about what the film should feel like, and room to try things.

He is drawn to work that is eerie, psychological and mysterious, or sincere and sweet, as long as it has that little ache underneath. Kubrick, Alex Garland, Refn and Half-Life are some of his touchstones.
